Public-Private Partnerships are intended to encourage private investment in public facilities and to provide the greatest possible flexibility to public and private entities. Here are a few highlights you need to know about the Fortress Secured P3 model and how it helps your department:
- All of the project risk is transferred to Fortress Secured for scheduling, design, and construction (including potential cost overruns and construction delays)
- Your cost savings are realized due to the use tools like prototype fire station designs and public facility expertise, which can help significantly reduce architectural and engineering costs
- Accelerated project delivery foregoes the time-consuming process of issuing two separate RFPs for design and construction services
- Innovative, long-term municipal lease financing can be provided and is not considered statutory debt and should not impact your bonding capacity
- All projects are completed in accordance with the latest edition of all applicable federal, state, and local regulatory requirements and codes
- Your initial capital costs, including construction interest, can be covered by Fortress Secured and your lease payments are deferred until the facility is successfully delivered
- Third-party project review and oversight is provided by an architect or engineer selected by your team through a competitive RFP process
